OK, so let me brag a little. I launched my Video Podcast, “Danny Rocks Tips and Timesavers,” in June 2010 on iTunes. When I looked at the number of downloads and views, I was amazed to see that the number had surpassed 4,800 – I am thrilled.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. And, one viewer has reviewed my podcast:

Concise training

by ChipAv

These are very specific and concise training modules on individual aspects of Excel and Powerpoint. (Also a few on meeting management and social media.) No nonsense, down-to-business, accurate, and professional. If one of these matches the skill you want to quickly acquire, you should like these.

I invite you to view, download, subscribe or review my video podcasts – either individually or as a whole. Here is the link to my iTunes video podcast:

YouTube

Two years ago, in August 2010, I started uploading my Excel video training lessons to my YouTube Channel – DannyRocksExcels. Now there are 93 Excel videos available. I was originally reluctant to post my video content on YouTube because I selfishly wanted to restrict my videos to my own website. After a conversation with a colleague, I changed my mind and began to upload all of my Excel videos to YouTube.
Why?
  • YouTube attracts a much more diverse audience than I could ever hope to attract on this website.
  • YouTube makes it easy to download and share my videos with others.
  • YouTube has a great analytics program – Insight – that allows me to gain valuable information about my audience.
  • YouTube is now showing several of my most popular videos as ads automatically (via Google AdSense)
  • I have good interaction with my viewers on YouTube – comments, requests for new videos, etc.

When I look at the numbers on YouTube I am amazed!

Here is a summary:

  • My Excel Videos have been viewed almost 200,000 times over the past two years.
  • One Video (Introduction to Pivot Tables) has been viewed over 20,000 times!
  • My DannyRocksExcels Channel on YouTube now has over 500 subscribers.

I invite you to view, download or subscribe to my YouTube Channel for Excel Training videos by following this link.

Thank you!

Add Video of Your Employees to Your Website

danny-playing-the-pianoPeople do business with people that they like – or would like to be like.

Take advantage of this. Shine the (video) spotlight on your employees. Let your customers get to know them better. Let your employees “showcase” their special talents and expertise.

People want to do business with people that they know and trust. Your website gives you a great opportunity to:

  • Include a short video of your employees sharing a tip, a hobby, a piece of trivia
  • Invite your customers to get to know something that they did not know yet …
    • About your business
    • About your product
    • About your employees

Try it!

Here’s an example – I filmed a series of training videos for NAMM – The International Music Products Association.

In this video, you can see – and hear – me playing a little piano music. Now, perhaps, you did not know that I played the piano. Perhaps that makes me more interesting. Perhaps you – the customer – would like to know a little bit about me.

This is an opportunity to start a conversation. Which may lead to a sale. Which will help to establish a connection between your employees, your customer and your business.

Try it – you may like it. And… you may find more customers – who like to business with people that they like – or people that they would like to be like!
